The course is of two days' duration consisting of approximately 12 hours' instruction and exercises with the trainees, inclusive
of feedback, but is excluding breaks Candidates who pass the initial training will be issued with a logbook and be assessed carrying out the activities listed in that logbook
. There are three assessments, each carried out by a qualified 12C instructor/assessor and at an interval of not less than 2 weeks apart.

NATIONAL HIGHWAYS SECTOR SCHEMES 12D - T7 FOR SPECIFIERS & OTHER PERSONNEL
This course is intended for all levels of Management, Client Officers, Technicians and any person not actually installing Temporary Traffic Management (TTM), but requiring a knowledge of basic practice of TTM on urban and rural roads. The aim of the course is to provide delegates with the necessary underpinning knowledge of temporary traffic management and the design procedures used for this within Highway Authorities, Contractors. Also for other organisations
who require a knowledge of current basic practices as well as minimum legal requirements (where they apply).
NHSS 12D - INSTALLING, MAINTAINING AND REMOVAL OF TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ON RURAL AND URBAN ROADS
This Sector Scheme has been introduced by the Highways Agency to promote a national standard for the management of temporary traffic management and the training of personnel in the industry. It augments the Sector Scheme for temporary traffic management work on high speed trunk roads and motorways. The scope of the Sector Scheme includes all single carriageway roads and dual carriageways with a speed limit up to and including 40 mph.
